Three nails connect the flywheel to the base, so the constraint of the brief becomes the joint that holds the product together.

(Challenge)

The brief was to design a product using anywhere from 3 to 100 nails, with the nails themselves as the constraint that shapes it.

(Objective)

The project was a chance to experiment with resin 3D printing and to work within a strict design constraint, from the first sketches to the printed parts.

(Results)

A resin-printed spinning top, along with a set of renders and animations that present the product and how it comes together.

  • You work directly with the person designing and modelling your product: fewer hand-offs, faster decisions and one point of responsibility from concept to final files.

  • A render pack usually takes one to two weeks; product development depends on complexity. You get a clear timeline before we start.

  • CAD files (STEP, IGES or native), high-resolution renders and any source files agreed in the brief.
